The Community, through its membership, research and other activities, is recognised as "The International Study Group for Mathematical Modelling and Applications (ICTMA)" by its affiliation to the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI).

The International Community of Teachers of Modelling and Applications (the ‘Community’) is a membership organisation that exists to promote Applications and Modelling (A&M) in all areas of mathematics education – primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities.

Services

The Community provides the following services to members:
 

1. a biennial conference, where all aspects of A&M are considered,
2. a publication resulting from each of the ICTMA conferences, consisting of edited papers from the conference and a limited number of commissioned papers,
3. a computer conference, via the mailing list list@ictma.net (see note below),
4. this Web site, containing

• the Mission Statement of the Community,
• details of the various services available,
• the Constitution of the Community,
• membership details,
• lists of relevant publications,
• Executive Committee,
• the Newsletter,
